The following are David's thoughts in relation to our show of the 14th September

Thought, word, and deed.  These are the three levels of creation.  Merely thinking about something isn't usually enough to put it into motion.  Speaking about it, sharing your vision with others, and taking real-life steps engages the engine even more.  Sometimes these steps can be small things, making the smallest of dreams come true, to form habits in this process.

For example, if you really desire an apple, then go out to the store and buy yourself an apple and eat it, right now.  Make that smallest of dreams come true in your experience.  Make the effort, take the steps, experience the desire becoming reality, even if it's something small.

If you can't make the full desire come true, take symbolic or token steps.  If you want a new car, but can't buy one, buy a model car, put it together, paint it, and play with it.  Or draw the car, or write a story about it.  "Think big, play small."  Pre-tend.  Play!  Just as children know to do.

Often small things in life can bring us as much pleasure as larger things, without the overhead.  Not everything has to be big and expensive, or admired or seen by others.  Life isn't about what we can get out of it, but what we put into it.  Enjoy simple pleasures, simple loves, simple desires fulfilled.  It doesn't take a lot of 'stuff' to be happy.  Happiness comes from within.

In the positive thinking department, it's important to realize that our conscious mind is just the tip of an iceberg.  The subconscious, or other aspects of the self, also has many thoughts which are creating our lives.  So doing inner work, or shadow work, to bring the subconscious into the light of our awareness is vital.

"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." -- Carl Jung

People often try to have positive thoughts, then get discouraged because it doesn't work.  They don't magically heal their disease.  They don't magically get the job they want.  This is because we create from many levels, many aspects of the self.  Many of these aspects are denied by the conscious mind.  Other facets revolve and aren't always on top.  So one keeps changing one's mind.

You can't actually add or subtract anything from yourself or your life.  All you can do is transform what you already are, and what you already have.  So letting go of the old, forgiving, allowing change to come in, and expressing willingness to change is vital.

People often say they want change, but then they don't want TO change.  Think 'willingness'.  Do you feel that willingness deeply?  Are you willing to go through the challenges of change to reach your visions?  Can you let go?

So it's not just about having positive thoughts.  Sometimes it's about listening carefully and consciously to one's negative thoughts, one's pains and shadows.  These are the parts of yourself that you must transform and transmute if you want 'new' life.  Listening consciously to these parts of yourself is different than dwelling in negativity.  Be the therapist, the healer.  Bring your light into your darkness and elevate it.

Sometimes nothing will make you feel worse than trying to think happy thoughts when what you really want is to fully express your misery and your fear, which ironically can then feel very liberating once it's out and acknowledged.  It's a paradox.  As Eckhart teaches, don't think about it or try to control it, just fully allow it to be.  Allow

If you want an elevated planet, the same is true.  You must go into the lower parts of the planet, and raise them up.  That is the only way the planet will become elevated, and collective dreams will come true.  All the people who have been left behind, we must go back for them.  Same in oneself: go back for the parts of yourself you have left behind.  "No man left behind."  Rescue your inner child from his limitations, and you may just find him rescuing you!

You can't just paint over misery with positive thinking.  You've got to scrape at the old paint, get down to the wood, then apply that new paint.  So there is a great deal of cleaning involved.  Cleanliness is next to godliness.  "Honesty is a magnet for life."

Think, transform, and transmute.  You will find in this process that there can be deep wounds, traumas, at the heart of many problems.  These aren't so easily changed just by positive thinking.  You must listen to yourself as you would a friend, and guide yourself to a new understanding and vision.  Practice patience and love.  Then the outer results won't even matter as much, and may come easily of their own accord.  It's the inner experience that counts, not manipulating outer experience, which sometimes we can't so easily change, or don't need to.

As the ancients taught, in order to fly, you must first release the heavy weights held in the heart.  In order to use your magic, you must first free your magic from wishes you made in the past.  Change your mind.  Free your mind, and the rest of you will follow.

The advice you shared, positive thinking, positive feelings, visioning, is an important part of this process.  Yet in many ways those steps occur by themselves once you have freed yourself.  The wishing part is easy!  It's freeing yourself, and healing the trauma, that is the greater challenge of recreating yourself.  Bringing new creative light to old problems.

Healing is growth.

This doesn't always look pretty.  It doesn't always look happy.  Others won't always encourage you in this process.  It's a deeply personal journey, between you and life.
